The major local point in West Jakarta is Soekarno Hatta Airport.
That said almost everyone arriving to Jakarta will need to pass
through West Jakarta on their way to their final destination. As
such and because real estate prices are lower than in mainstream
Jakarta there has been quite a bit of development in West Jakarta,
especially along the toll road leading into the city. Taking advantage
of the lower land costs many hotels have sprung up offering quality
accommodation that has been recognized as good value for money.
Perhaps the most popular area is Slipi. Just on the border of Senayan
in Central Jakarta, Slipi offers good, quick access to Central and
South Jakarta and has several very good, professional managed hotels
from which to choose. Another option is Grogol. This is the first
major real estate development you will pass on the way into Jakarta
from the airport. Easily recognized by Ciputra Hotel and Mall just
off the toll road, which is ideal for layovers and quick day meetings.
